Lincoln man jailed after posting sexual images of woman on Facebook after burgling her home
A Lincolnshire man who published sexual images of a woman on Facebook after burgling her home was jailed for two and half years.
Keith Saunders, 36, of Cannon Street Lincoln, spray painted insults on the walls of the woman's home after carrying out the burglary on February 5 last year.
Lincoln Crown Court heard Saunders ransacked the property while the woman was out but a babysitter and three children were present.
Noel Philo, prosecuting, told the court insults such as the word "sl*g" were spray painted on the walls.
"Items were stolen and a great deal of damage was done," Mr Philo said.
On the same day Saunders uploaded sexual images of the woman onto Facebook, the court heard.
"He warned her that he would do so and he did so," Mr Philo added.
Saunders also admitted bombarding the woman with a series of threatening messages between February and December, 2023.
These included threats to cause further criminal damage and the use of a shotgun, the court was told.
An impact statement from the victim was read out in court by Mr Philo.
She said: "What Keith has done to me is just the tip of the iceberg."
The woman explained she had been forced to move and uproot her three children as she no longer felt safe at her former home.
Saunders admitted charges of burglary and disclosing sexual images on February 5, 2023, and sending malicious communications over a ten month period.
Tom Heath, mitigating for Saunders, said the burglary and sexual image offences occurred while Saunders was under the influence of alcohol and cocaine.
Mr Heath argued the impact of the photos being published on Facebook was "fairly limited" with a maximum of 17 likes for the images.
The court heard Saunders has a new partner and ran a sucessful building business despite his addictions.
Passing sentence Recorder Graham Huston told Saunders: "You are a very cruel and vindictive man."
Recorder Huston said Saunders carried out the burglary of the victim's home despite the presence of the babysitter and three children.
"You took her TV, her perfume, her mobile phone and her bank card," Recorder Huston explained.
Recorder Huston told Saunders he then used spray paint on the walls of the property and taunted his victim by publishing sexual images on Facebook.
Saunders was jailed for 30 months and two weeks. A restraining order was also made which prevents him from having any contact with his victim.
