Death of woman, 67, following Hykeham fire not suspicious, say police.
The death of a woman following property fire is not being treated as suspicious, say police.
Officers were called to an address on Lincoln Road at around 11am on Saturday, June 22 after reports of a blaze.
The woman was initially taken to Queen’s Medical Centre with serious injuries, but died the following morning.
“Following a post-mortem examination, we are satisfied that there are no suspicious circumstances in the death of a 67-year-old woman following a fire at a property in North Hykeham,” a Lincolnshire Police statement read.
“We are now preparing a file for the coroner, and her next of kin have been updated.”
A 36-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were arrested following the blaze, but later arrested with ‘no further action’ taken.
“The family has asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time,” the police statement added.
