Plans submitted for 300 homes in Bracebridge Heath near site of Lincoln Eastern Bypass route

Plans have been submitted for the next stage of a major housing development in Bracebridge Heath.

Stonebridge Homes and CC Projects have presented details of almost 300 homes on the southern edge of the village.

Permission was originally granted outline permission in 2023 for 1,087 homes on Sleaford Road.

This application lays out the size and design of the properties which would be on the western portion of it.

The majority of the 287 new homes would be two-storey, with the occasional bungalow and three-storey.

The new estate would be located directly next to the proposed route of the final stage of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass, branching out from the existing roundabout.

Plans show that there would be a strip of green space and hedges between new homes and the bypass.

The application describes it as a “new walkable neighbourhood” and says: “Smaller green spaces throughout the site create a green walking network across the development.”

Access to the estate would be created from a new roundabout on Sleaford Road.

The other half of the future development would be constructed on the opposite side, off Bloxholm Lane, and has permission for a care home and business space.

The original plans were brought forward for the Church Commissioners of England, which manages the Church’s land.

The application is currently available for comment on North Kesteven District Council’s website, and will be determined at a later date.
