First Greater Lincolnshire Mayor will be Reform UK’s Andrea Jenkyns as results of May 1 2025 election are announced
Reform UK’s Andrea Jenykns won the race to become the first Greater Lincolnshire Mayor.
Ms Jenkyns topped the polls with 42% of the vote, with Conservative Rob Waltham a distant second on 26.1%.
The mayor role is a new position to sit above the local authorities in Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire — and will be tasked with taking a lead on key strategic matters for the area, such as transport, skills and economic development.
It’s a case of political full circle for Ms Jenkyns, whose political career began in 2009 when she was elected to Lincolnshire County Council as a Conservative, representing Boston North West.
She had been a Conservative MP for Yorkshire before defecting to Reform last year.
