Lincolnshire Police says Lincoln woman’s death is not suspicious
Police say they are no longer treating a woman’s death as suspicious — despite initially believing the incident may have been a murder.
Officers were called out in the early hours of Monday morning to assist a 51-year-old woman in Prial Close in Lincoln after being called out by ambulance crews. The woman then died in hospital at 11.15am on Monday.
A 60-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm but then further arrested for murder.
However, that man has now been released.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “Following a post-mortem examination carried out last night, we can confirm that the death of a 51-year-old woman is no longer being treated as suspicious.
“The examination revealed medical issues and had no suspicious findings which would have contributed to her death, and we are now in the process of preparing a file for the coroner.
“A 60-year-old man arrested in connection with her death has been released with no further action.
“Our police presence in the area is now completed, and we’d like to thank everyone locally for their cooperation while we investigated.”
