Man arrested as police launch murder investigation in Lincoln

A murder investigation following the death of a 55-year-old man earlier this morning.

Officers attended Carholme Road in Lincoln just before 11.30pm yesterday (Sunday, December 8) and discovered a man with serious head injuries.

He sadly passed away at the scene and his family have been made aware.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

“A scene guard is currently in place and is likely to remain for some time and as a result, we've had to close the stretch of road from the A46 to Carholme Road,* a Lincolnshire Police statement read.

“We are appealing for witnesses and other information that can assist with our investigations.”
