Monster Invasion returns to Lincoln city centre
Monsters have once again taken over the city of Lincoln just in time for Halloween.
The giant inflatables have been installed on the rooftops of various locations and landmarks across the city, such as Lincoln Cathedral and the Waterside Shopping Centre. They have already been a big hit with children, who are taking photos at each stop.
The monsters were first introduced last year by the City of Lincoln Council as part of the events replacing the famous Christmas Market, which was canceled after overcrowding concerns in 2022.
This time, Lincoln BIG has organised the invasion, using sculptures from inflatable design company Designs in Air, which will be on display around the city until Sunday, October 27.
The concept began in 2018 with what has since become an annual Monster Invasion in Manchester and has now expanded to over 10 cities across the UK.
Earlier this month, City of Lincoln Council revealed plans to transform the city into a magical winter wonderland during its Lincoln Ice Adventure event, scheduled for December 7 and 8.
It is the council's second event in 2024/25 lineup to replace the famed Christmas Market, following the return of the two-day music festival Lincoln Live on August 31 and September 1, which showcased a range of local talent.
Once the Ice Adventure event concludes in six weeks' time, the next event in the series, set for the first half of 2025, will be announced.
