More than 2,000 videos of dodgy drivers sent to Lincolnshire Police by the public last year… here’s what the offences were
More than 2,000 videos of motorists breaking the rules of the road were passed over to police by the public in 2024.
The Operation Snap portal allows civilians to upload dodgy driver footage from phones and dashcams, with those who flout the law potentially facing bans, points on their licences or fines.
With the final quarter stats now available, it can be revealed a total of 2,259 submissions were posted in Lincolnshire, 995 of them being identified as offences and passed over to police.
A further 663 were dealt with by warnings while no further action was taken on 631 of the posts.
The most common offence caught on camera in 2024 was driving without due care and attention, 304 in total.
A close second was failing to comply with red and green arrows and lane closure traffic light signals, which totalled 303.
There were 148 offences of driving without reasonable consideration to other users, 77 offences of failing to comply with solid white line road markings and 63 offences of using a mobile phone while driving.
Other offences included: failing to comply with a traffic sign (11), failing to stop at a zebra crossing (6), not being in proper control when driving (4), using a vehicle in a manner that could injure passengers (4), overtaking at a zebra/puffin crossing (3), failing to comply with a stop sign (2), failing to comply with a red light at a puffin crossing (two) and driving without L plates, supervision or driving licence (2).
There were also 66 non-endorseable offences.
Latest figures also show that between October-December 2024, a total of 514 submissions were made, the second lowest number behind the first quarter (405).
In total, 252 of those were processed by police, 147 resulting in warnings and no further action taken on 115.

Other offences included: driving without reasonable consideration to other users (34), failing to comply with solid white line road markings (19), using a mobile phone while driving (18), failing to stop at a zebra crossing (4), failing to comply with a traffic sign (2) and overtaking at a zebra/puffin crossing (1).
There were also 11 non-endorseable offences.
