Murder investigation launched after man found dead in Lincoln

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 69-year-old man.

Officers attended Portland Street in Lincoln following a call at 11.40am on Tuesday (June 18).

John Connelly, 69, was found dead.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “The investigation is currently in its early stages, and officers are conducting a number of inquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.”

A scene guard has been in place in Portland Street and Trollope Street since Tuesday and will remain while inquiries are ongoing.

Lincolnshire Police is appealing for witnesses and any other information that can help with the investigation.
