Greater Lincolnshire mayor Dame Andrea Jenkyns slips up on Twitter post about improving literacy
The mayor of Greater Lincolnshire has written about improving literacy among people who face economic ‘exlusion’.
Dame Andrea Jenkyns’ typo was included in a Twitter post yesterday (Monday, October 20), in which the Reform UK politician bemoaned that “8.5 million people in the UK struggle with basic reading and writing”.
She added: “This hits our poorest communities the hardest and traps too many people in a relentless cycle of economic exlusion.”
She wants funding used for courses in English for speakers of other languages (EOSL) to be used to improve literacy for people in Lincolnshire.
Dame Andrea does not live in Lincolnshire but says she is going to move.
On Sunday she wrote on Twitter about how ‘incresibly’ moving it was to hear from young farmers at a county harvest festival service.
