Trial date set as three men accused of murdering Lincoln man Marc Glasscoe appear in court




A trial date has been set after three men appeared in court charged with the murder of 46-year-old Marc Glasscoe.

Lincolnshire Police’s force control room received a call from Lincoln County Hospital at 6.12pm on Friday, June 14 to report that a man had been brought in with serious injuries to his body and head.

The force said Mr Glasscoe died at 5.10pm on Sunday, June 16 and his family are receiving support from specially-trained officers.

Police carried out a number of enquiries in the city centre, including at Frank Swaby Court, off Newark Road in Lincoln.

They believe the victim may have been assaulted in or around the Frank Swaby Court area at some point between 12pm and 4pm on Friday, June 14.

Detectives from the force’s Major Crime Unit submitted a case file to the Crown Prosecution Service on Tuesday, June 18 before charging three men with murder.

They are Jason Frow, 31, of Frank Swaby Court, Lincoln; Louis Giles, 33, of Blackfriars Court, Lincoln; and Jordan Hartley, 32, of Ash Grove, North Hykeham

In addition, four other people - women aged 28 and 32, and men aged 21 and 36, were previously arrested before being released on police bail while investigations continue.

Police previously said they believe that the people they were questioning and the victim were known to each other.

Frow, Giles and Hartley all appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court on Wednesday, June 19 before being remanded into custody.

The trio were then sent for a preliminary hearing at Lincoln Crown Court before Judge Simon Hirst.

No pleas were entered during this hearing and Judge Hirst adjourned the case for a further plea and trial preparation hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on August 22, 2024.

A trial date has been provisionally set for November 25, 2024.

Lincolnshire Police’s investigation is ongoing and they continue to appeal for any dashcam or CCTV footage from the Newark Road and Frank Swaby Court areas of Lincoln to help piece together the movements of the people involved.
