Lincolnshire Police drink driving figures reveal which areas in county are worst for offenders
The worst locations for drink driving in Lincolnshire have been revealed.
Lincolnshire Police has recorded more than 2,400 drink driving offences in the past three years, with 651 clocked in the last year alone, according to data from a Freedom of Information request by Legal Expert.
Of the offences logged between December 2021 and November 2024, 75 per cent resulted in a charge.
The 10 locations with the highest number of offences logged in the last year are:
Lincoln - 203
Boston - 101
Skegness - 71
Spalding - 66
Grantham - 64
Sleaford - 46
Bourne - 19
Gainsborough - 19
Louth - 19
Stamford - 15
In total, 638 of the arrests were male and 133 female with 15 falling into the category of ‘unknown’.
More than one-third of the offences were committed by people in their 30s, with the seven highest ages all relating to people aged between 30 and 40.
Legal Expert’s road traffic accident specialist, Tracy Chick, said: “Anyone who drinks and drives is putting the lives of all road users at risk.
"The impact of drink driving can be devastating not only for victims who have been killed or suffered life-changing injuries but also for the drivers facing serious legal consequences - it is such an avoidable offence and there is no excuse for drinking and getting behind the wheel.”
LincsOnline recently revealed the highest drink drive reading in Lincolnshire last year was a staggering five times the legal limit.
Of those arrested for drink driving in Lincolnshire last year, 86 drivers gave a reading of at least twice the legal limit, 28 at least three times the legal limit and one at least four times the legal limit.
