LIVES charity flat race at Market Rasen Racecourse raises £10,700 to support life-saving work
A horse racing event saw thousands raised for a first response charity last month.
Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service (LIVES), a Horncastle-based organisation which provides medical assistance across the county, said it is overwhelmed by the success of its latest charity flat race at Market Rasen Racecourse on Saturday, September 28.
Some £10,700 was raised by those attending, all of which will go to support the life-saving work that LIVES does.
Crossing the finish line first was Lily Stanham-Ritchie who accumulated £2,435 in sponsorship for the charity but the biggest fundraiser of the day was Ben Atkins, who single-handedly raised £3,000.
LIVES’ head of fundraising Charlie McClelland said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part in the race, as well as those who donated so generously.
“The money raised will make a substantial difference in our ability to continue responding to emergencies across Lincolnshire.
“It’s this community support that keeps us going.”
