The event has been generating money for good causes for more than 50 years and last year raised £47,000.

Being staged for the first time at Rutland Hall Hotel’s Pavilion, a banner promoting the sale was unveiled by the hotel’s director and general manager, Sunil Kanjanghat.

This year’s sale starts on Friday, March 28 from 5pm to 8pm at Rutland Hall Hotel. Tickets cost £25 and include champagne and canapes from Hambleton Hall. Email info@forrutland.org.uk to book.

The sale continues on Saturday, March 29 from 8.30am until 1pm when most items will be reduced to half price. Admission is £5 on the door.

Jeannette Warner, who chairs the For Rutland fundraising group, said: “We hope that this year is the first of many successful events at Rutland Hall Hotel. Anyone who hasn’t already bought a ticket for the first night sale on the Friday still has time.

“People can also pay £5 on the door on Saturday morning for the Big Sale and grab a bargain as most items will then be half price.”
