Shock Horror performances at Uppingham Theatre described as Stranger Things meets The Woman in Black

A theatre production promises to take audiences on a chilling journey into a haunted past.

Shock Horror is described as “Stranger Things meets The Woman in Black” with classic ghost stories as its inspiration.

Thunder Road Theatre will host two performances at Uppingham Theatre.

The story features Herbert who grew up with an eerie old cinema as his playground and prison – a place where endless late-night horror films were his only window to the world.

Forbidden from leaving by his disturbed parents, Herbert hid in its shadows and gorged on its movies. But what lurked in the darkness and how did he manage to escape?

Shock Horror finds Herbert’s back at the abandoned cinema, searching for answers to long-buried questions but he finds the real horror has only just begun.

The play will also be performed at the Key Theatre in Peterborough between October 22 and 26.
