For Rutland volunteers appeal for bottle donations ahead of the Rutland County Show
Fundraisers have launched an appeal for donations to help boost their profits.
Volunteers from For Rutland will host a bottle tombola at this year’s Rutland County Show and are looking for prizes.
Anything from champagne to shampoo is welcome and can be delivered to collections points in Oakham or Uppingham.
Last year the team collected 1,450 bottles and raised £8,500 towards the cost of hiring two non-medical advisers at Citizens Advice Rutland.
A spokesperson said: “We can’t raise such amazing amounts of money without the support and generosity of people in the community. Every single one of those 1,450 bottles was donated by the residents of Rutland and the surrounding area.”
Bottle donations can be dropped off at John Porter Dry Cleaners in Oakham or Nelsons Butchers in Uppingham.
The Rutland County Show takes place on Sunday, June 1 at Rutland Showground in Oakham.
