Leicestershire Police respond to reports of gun being fired in Uppingham




Armed police responded to reports of a gun being fired.

Police received a report that a firearm was heard to have been shot in High Street East in Uppingham at about 3.40pm on Saturday (October 19).

No injuries were reported.

Part of the town centre was closed while investigations were underway.

Following enquiries in the area, a man in his 30s was identified and stated he owned an air pistol.

The man will be interviewed by officers on a voluntary basis and enquiries are continuing.
