Planning permission approved for a new gym inside the Co-op supermarket in Oakham
A fitness instructor has been given the go ahead to open a new gym.
Emily Baxter has secured planning permission to open a fitness centre within the Co-op supermarket in Oakham.
The plans include a ground-floor space with two saunas, an ice bath, a training area for group sessions plus strength, weights and cardio equipment. There will also be changing rooms, a juice bar and reception.
A mezzanine floor will include a wellness studio for yoga and pilates, a fitness suite and a store room.
The gym will be located in an area of the Burley Road building which Central Co-op identified as surplus to requirements.
A spokesperson for Method Health Club said the gym is expected to open next year.
