Rutland Running and Triathlon Club round-up
Rutland Running and Triathlon Club secretary Julia Mannering has earned representative honours for Great Britain.
Mannering was part of the British Triathlon Federation team that competed in the European Championships in Vichy.
She was in the female 70-74 category and came third to leave the club proud of her achievements.
Mannering has been competing at this elite level for a while but being the European bronze medallist is yet another career highlight.
Michelle Mihill is another club member to have pulled off an amazing achievement after taking part in her first 100 mile ultra event.
She completed the bi-annual HOBO Pace Robin Hood 100 event which headed into Sherwood Forest before going back to South Wheatley.
With the weather deviating between heat and torrential rain, Mihill very much appreciated the many aid station staff whose interactions 'really lifted her spirits and kept her going.'
The actual distance covered was 101.8 miles in 22 hours 48 minutes.
The club was well represented at the 24-hour Equinox event held at Belvoir Castle.
Runners can participate in single or multiple 10k laps, either individually or as part of a team.
Club president Helen Duncan produced an incredible 12 lap effort last year and she was part of a team of four called the Rutland Horseshoes.
Duncan put in strong five laps along with Giles Cooper (six), Erica Appleton (five) and Sam Gordon-Kerr (four)
It was a great performance from Gordon-Kerr having never done more than a 10k in a single day before.
Other Rutland club teams taking part were the Blister Sisters of Helen Graves (five laps), Shaza Brannon (five), Andrea Gordon-Kerr (four) and Becks Carter (five).
Martin's Midnight Runners consisted of Martin Gordon-Kerr (four), Jo Rockliffe (four, including three consecutive), Sara Mcwhan (four), Claire Viney (four) and Hannah Tee (four).
The Eager Belvoirs were represented by Michelle Ogilvie (four), Murray Walne (three), Dave Summers (four) and Kevin Thomas (four).
Chris Jones (seven laps) and Robert Wright (eight) formed the Pair of Pants while Paul Rogerson (four) and Sara Reeves (five) completed a fantastic club turn out after competing as individuals.
