Emma Stocks, of Rutland Running and Triathlon Club, wins the Rutland 10k at Rutland Water
Nine Rutland Running and Triathlon Club members took on the Rutland 10k at Rutland Water on the hottest day of the year so far.
Emma Stocks delivered a superb performance to win the race in a time of 39min18secs with Helen Pape returning an excellent fourth place in 41.34.
Ben Stocks, Carolyn Sayers, Mark Sayers, Sammy Munton, Rachel Munday, Ella Delargy, and Morgan Johnson also competed.
The Dambuster Triathlon took place on Sunday, with club expert Julia Mannering up early at 4.30am to support.
Giles Cooper was second in his age group with a time of 2hr27min57sec in the Standard Distance, Sue Tonge won her Sprint Distance age group and Linda Arnold came fourth. Mary Hardwick smashed the swim leg in her relay team, Inspire2Triers.
On Friday evening, six members took part in the Summer Solstice 10k in Long Bennington. Representing the club were Hannah Tee, Sara McWhan, Harriet McWhan, Jo Rockliff, Erica Appleton, and Sarah Reeves.
Each runner delivered a strong performance and finished with commendable times. A standout achievement came from McWhan, who was the first Rutland runner to cross the line in 55.30,
It marked her third consecutive personal best in as many weeks, a clear testament to the value of consistent training and determination.
