Alford man had crack and heroin, police strip search revealed
A police strip search revealed a former cleaner was carrying Class A drugs.
Officers discovered Dreiden King had 10.87g of crack cocaine and 1g of heroin in his possession after being arrested at Utterby, near Louth, on November 7 last year.
“The defendant was strip searched in custody following his arrest,” prosecutor Lottie Tyler told Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (October 15).
“He had six wraps of heroin and 65 wraps of crack cocaine.”
Miss Tyler added that King had originally been arrested for possession of a blade, for which he received a four-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
In defence, Vicky Clayton described her client as ‘somebody who was using drugs’.
She added King - who was receiving benefits after his work as a cleaner on a zero hours contract had dried up - had found a drug treatment requirement imposed alongside his suspended sentence ‘helpful’ in reducing his use of illegal substances.
King - of no fixed abode, but who gave the court an address of Parsons Lane, Alford - pleaded guilty to charges of possessing crack cocaine and heroin.
He was fined £140 and ordered to pay a £56 victim surcharge.
Magistrates ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
