Whaplode resident scoops £30,000 on Postcode Lottery

A Whaplode resident has been given a weekend to remember after winning £30,000 thanks to their postcode.

The Thorpe's Lane resident picked up the prize when their PE12 6RS postcode was announced as a winner with the People’s Postcode Lottery today (Sunday).

They chose to remain anonymous but the prize will be paid into their bank account.

They won the prize as part of People’s Postcode Lottery’s special October campaign, where one postcode is announced as a £30,000 prize winner every day. All the players in the postcode win £30,000 for every ticket they hold.

Sending her congratulations was People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt, who said: “Wow – what a result for our one lucky player in Whaplode!

“What a fantastic way to end the weekend. I hope they can treat themselves to something really special with their winnings.”

People’s Postcode Lottery costs £10 a month to play and there are guaranteed winners every day. People play with their chosen postcode and are automatically entered into all draws.

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise over £600million to date for thousands of good causes across Britain and internationally.

This draw was promoted on behalf of Postcode African Trust which funds charities working in Africa to alleviate poverty, strengthen communities, as well as those conserving and protecting the environment.

Book Aid International and Mary’s Meals are just a few of the good causes to benefit from the funding.
