A century of fun! Holbeach revellers celebrate Carter’s Park’s 100th birthday with community event
Revellers headed to Carter’s Park to celebrate a very special anniversary.
The Holbeach venue marked its centenary with a free gathering on Sunday, which attracted a cross section of the community.
Among the attractions were music, exhibitions, stalls, and performers to ensure everyone got in the spirit, aided by a hearty band of volunteers.
“Carters Park was thrilled to announce its grand centenary celebration, marking 100 years of community, history, and joy,” a Holbeach Parish Council statement read.
“It was an afternoon filled with music, fun, and festivities for all ages.”
Event highlights included live music performances showcasing a variety of genres to keep everyone entertained throughout the event, family fun activities including face painting and games to a special kids’ zone, as well as a selection of delicious food and drink.
There were also historical exhibits, including photographs from the past century, to help parkgoers take a stroll down memory lane.
Allowing visitors to see everything Carter’s Park has to offer, there were also tennis lessons and a bowls club open afternoon.
“We were incredibly proud to celebrate this significant milestone with our community,” the statement added.
“Carter’s Park has been a cornerstone of our community for a century.”
Carter’s Park has been a beloved community space since its establishment in 1924.
Over the past 100 years, it has served as a gathering place for countless events, celebrations, and everyday enjoyment.
The centenary celebration was a testament to the park’s enduring significance and the vibrant community it supports.
