Spring Into Spalding event set to bring Easter fun to town centre

The countdown is on for the Spring into Spalding event – with organisers promising an action-packed Easter-themed day.

Alongside star guest Matty Edgell, who was the 2023 winner for Channel Four’s Great British Bake Off and will judge the efforts of the town’s talented bakers, the event will see a wide range of fun-filled activities for the whole family to enjoy on Saturday, March 30, between 10.30am and 2.30pm.

Visitors will be able to browse through the outdoor market, have a ride on the vintage swing boat and enjoy the live performances and craft corner. Don’t miss the chance to meet and greet with Sleeping Beauty and watch her perform on stage or have a photo with Peter Rabbit and the giant daffodil stilt walkers who will be joining in on the fun.

Have a laugh in the Comedy Maypole Workshop, plant your own spring time flower or make a mini beast hotel at the Nature Lab. There will be a giant blossom globe and free face painting available as well.

Whip up a treat for the new ‘Bake Off’ competition which has been organised by South Holland District Council’s Communities Team and Chairman Coun Andrew Woolf.

“We are encouraging bakers of all abilities to come forward and showcase what they can do. We are looking for style, quality designs and most importantly, taste.”

Keep your eyes peeled for the Easter Bunny Hunt which is being held from Saturday, March 30 until Sunday, April 14. Find the six bunnies hiding in shop windows and enter the prize draw for a chance to win a Spring Hamper.

Spalding Methodist Church will also be open with free Spring craft activities and refreshments.

Money from the Bake Off competition will be going towards blood cancer UK and Mencap.
