Armed police called to Spalding home after reports of man seen pointing a handgun

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation gun.

Armed police were called to a home in Cathedral Drive, Spalding, earlier today (February 5) after receiving reports of a man pointing what appeared to be a black handgun at the window.

Officers discovered a ball bearing gun and will remain in the area.

Three men remain in police custody.

A force statement said: “Officers were deployed to an address on Cathedral Drive, Spalding, this morning, following a report that a man had been seen inside the address pointing what looked like a black handgun towards the window.

“Our officers arrested three men from the address; we are investigating offences of them being in possession of an imitation firearm. Following a search of the address a ball bearing gun was found.

“The police activity around the address must have been a concern for anyone seeing our officers, who were deployed with firearms. We are grateful to the people who rang in reporting what they had seen.

“There is no ongoing threat and local officers will be visiting the community and the local school today so please say hello and talk to them if you have any concerns.”
