Cash for council after Spalding business appealed licence decision
South Holland District Council has been awarded £4,000 as part of an appeal against a decision to not grant a premises licence.
Lincoln Magistrates dismissed the appeal lodged by appellants Aram Salar and Mohammad Attuf
in January, relating to A2Z Express in Westlode Street, formerly known as Delicja.
A council social media post stated: “A court dismissed an appeal and awarded £4,000 in costs to SHDC, as part of a hearing into the revoking of the Premises Licence of Delicja in Spalding.
“The council originally removed the licence at a licensing panel hearing after the shop was found to be selling alcohol in a way which raised serious public safety concerns, as well as employing an illegal worker.
“We welcome this decision by the court and will continue to work to ensure that the licensing objectives are met.”
