Spalding bar to re-open… due to public demand

A town centre bar is re-opening due to public demand.

Mulberry’s Bar - formerly known as The Chequers - was a staple of nightlife in Spalding until its closure two years ago.

But it will now be welcoming drinkers back through its doors from Friday.

Manzur Hassan, a businessman who also represents the town on Lincolnshire County and South Holland District councils, is behind the new business venture.

He said he decided to get the drinks in after calls for the hostelry to re-open.

“This pub has been closed for a long time and due to public demand I thought it will be good for the community,” he said.

A statement posted on social media said: “We are thrilled to invite you to the soft opening of The New Mulberry’s Bar on December 20 at 7pm.

“Join us for a sneak peek of what’s to come as we introduce our new space, delicious drinks, and welcoming atmosphere.”

Mulberry’s is now advertising for bartenders.
