Work on Spalding’s Springfields roundabout on the A16 on track to be completed by September
Work on a busy A16 roundabout remains on track to be completed by the autumn.
Last month completed work included: the completed relocation of the 33kV electricity cables in the southwest corner; the temporary installation of a footway and phase one of BT diversionary works to the northeast corner; a site clearance in the southwest, northeast and west corners of the scheme and the completing of drainage in the northeast corner.
The work - funded by £20 million of Government Levelling Up money which includes work at Pinchbeck’s Greencell roundabout and Boston’sMarsh Lane roundabout – remains on track to be completed by September, according to Lincolnshire County Council, who are a carrying out the work.

Throughout January, work carried out will include: completed earthworks in southwest corner of the roundabout, kerbing, drainage, and earthworks in the northeast and southwest corner of the roundabout, carriageway foundation layers of new widened sections of northeast and southwest corner excavated and constructed, complete BT diversionary works in northeast corner of project and construction of headwalls in the northeast and southwest corner.
The 24/7 barriers at the roundabout, with the current two-lane entries and single-lane exits, remain in place while lanes remain narrowed.
