Pinchbeck builders N&A Wilson Brothers appearing on Channel 4’s Grand Designs, presented by Kevin McCloud, working on ‘spectacular’ home in Alford

Brothers who run a building company are ‘nervous but looking forward to’ appearing on an episode of a popular national television series tonight (Wednesday, October 2).

Ashley Wilson and his brother Nathan, who own Pinchbeck company N&A Wilson Brothers, are featuring on Grand Designs at 9pm on Channel 4

The brothers had been trading for a year when they were chosen to build a ‘spectacular’ house, by owner Giuliano, in Alford, near Skegness. However, there was a twist when they found out they would be filmed for the hit television show, which is presented by Kevin McCloud.

Ashley Wilson, 32, said: “Giuliano asked if we would be interested in building the house.

“Then he asked how we would feel about getting filmed for Grand Designs and we said we’d love that.

“Nathan met Kevin McCloud, which is typical as I was away that week so my brother got a week of being filmed without me!”

The brothers were ‘buzzing’ once they were told about the show and younger brother Taylor, 24, was also brought on board to work as a labourer on the project.

Ashley said: “The character of the house is spectacular and it is great for us to have something like this to look back on.

“The style is a lot of open glass and rooms with brick walls inside and we specialise in new builds and modern houses.

“It is exciting times — and if it gives us a following on social media and gets us work it is a bonus.

The brothers’ expertise in bricklaying created the shell of the building and the brickwork for the fishpond which is ‘as big as a house’ — all under the watchful eye of the film crew.

Ashley said: “We built the house in eight weeks and on the first day the camera crew were there filming us.

“We had never been around cameras and they are really close up.

“The crew asked us to pretend the cameras weren’t there but it is so difficult.”

Nathan, 33 has a long term partner, a son Billy aged seven along with stepchildren Evie and Freddie.

Ashley is married to Karoline and the couple has two children Albie, 10-weeks old and Archie, 3, who he describes as a daddy’s boy.

He hopes his son will like seeing his dad on the TV and that family and friends enjoy the episode. There’s also a hope that it will boost their 4,000 followers on social media.

He said: “We are looking forward to it but nervous.

“Everyone is saying how good it will be for business.

“We had only been trading for a year and now we are going on TV.

“Everyone is excited about the benefits of being on Grand Designs.”
