Spalding café Becca’s Ice Cream Parlour trials early opening hours
A café is trialling different opening hours in a bid to attract a wider customer base to ensure the business survives.
Becca’s Ice Cream Parlour in Holland Market, Spalding has experimented with early opening times to catch workers who may want to pop in for a hot drink or fresh pastry.
Rebecca Turner, who opened the parlour in April this year, said: “We are currently trialling different opening hours to our regular ones, to see if it is worth us revising our hours to suit the morning coffee and hot drinks trade, especially as it gets into the colder months.
“For the business to remain open for four, five or six days a week we need to reach a wider customer base, especially those coffee, tea, hot chocolate and toasted teacake lovers.”
The owner is keen to spread the message that the café serves more than just ice cream and that they will be open throughout the winter.
She said: “We have a variety of hot drinks and some special seasonal drinks too, we can also make our drinks dairy free and don't charge any extra for doing so.
“We are proud to cater to different dietary requirements as we feel you shouldn't be left out when it comes to hot drinks, especially the seasonal ones.
“We look forward to welcoming customers throughout winter, and can't wait for all the festive things yet to come at Becca's.
“We are proud to use Norfolk coffee company as our coffee supplier and we believe their coffee is delicious.
“But don't just take our word for it, pop in and try it for yourself.”
According to the parlour’s Facebook page the opening hours up until November 26 are 7.30am-5pm today and tomorrow, 10am-5pm Saturday and 11am – 4pm Sunday.
The hours are subject to change and updates can be found on the Becca’s Ices Facebook page
