South Holland Centre in Spalding to host Best In Comedy, Soul Kinda Wonderful and Burns Night events

Four top comedians will be on the line-up at a town’s theatre — as the venue gears up for a busy week of events.

The Best In Comedy show returns to the South Holland Centre in Spalding tonight (Friday, January 17) featuring Jen Brister, Angela Barnes, Rich Wilson and Will Duggan.

Mock The Week regular Jen Brister is a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian who is a regular on the UK and international comedy circuits.

After a career in health and social care, Angela Barnes took the plunge and embarked on her life-long dream to be a comedian.

Within a couple of years she had won the BBC New Comedy Award in 2011 and has now gone on to star in BBC Two’s Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo and Hypothetical on Dave.

Rich Wilson’s performances have earned him a win for Best International Guest at the New Zealand Comedy Awards, followed by a sell-out run in which saw him nominated for the same award again.

Will Duggan has been per-forming comedy since 2009 and mixes stories and gags with a cheerfully cynical view of the world.

Tickets cost £20 and can be purchased by visiting the South Holland Centre website or calling the box office on 01775 764777.

If a night of toe tapping and hand clapping is more up your street, the Soul Kinda Wonderful show, which is back by popular demand, could be the perfect option for you.

The show will feature the official UK tribute act for the Drifters, and is set to take place tomorrow (Saturday, January 18) from 7.30pm.

Prepare to enjoy the multi-award winning show which has performed for celebrities such as Tom Cruise, David Beckham, Sir Trevor McDonald and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Some of the classics will include ‘Under the Board-walk’ ‘Up On the Roof’ – and many more. Tickets cost £28.50.

The Market Place theatre will also be hosting a Burns Night on Saturday, January 25. Guests are being urged to wear black tie or Scottish attire to get into the spirit of the event, which will also include a Burns Night Supper.

Tickets cost £50 from Eileen Robson on 07711095686 or Elaine Mothers on 07921235628.
