Surfleet couple go all out with Christmas decorations following popular demand

A couple known for their extravagant seasonal decorations have gone all out for Christmas due to popular demand from neighbours and visitors.

Following a positive response to their Halloween-themed spooky house in October, Anna Lucyna and Joe Chapman were asked what they would be doing for Christmas by their Surfleet neighbours.

After the ghoulish display was taken down, Anna and Joe got to work straight away and spent three weekends making their own seasonal decorations – some of which include a light up gingerbread man, giant sweets, neon Merry Christmas sign and more.

Joe said: “After Halloween we just thought we better make a bit more of an effort with Christmas. Everyone was dying for us to do something and were looking forward to seeing it – that pushed us to do something even more.

“We just want to spread a bit of joy. When it’s miserable outside we hope our display can put a smile of peoples faces and that makes us feel proud.”

Anna and Joe have transformed their home with inflatable characters, candy canes, bright lights, handmade decorations and a 20 foot Santa and huge snowman.

Anna added: “It took us three weekends to make everything and it was a bit of a mad rush after we took the Halloween decorations down.

“We’ve seen some amazing houses this year and it’s nice to see people are putting in as much effort as us.
