Police crack-down on anti-social use of vehicles in Spalding

Police have been cracking down on the anti-social use of vehicles in the town.

Spalding’s Neighbourhood Police Team and the Specialist Roads Policing Unit worked together on Operation Exhaust to tackle the issues raised by residents in surveys and community engagements.

Officers had issued eight Traffic Offence Reports on May 4 and seized a vehicle for having no insurance.

Sgt Callum Corder was pleased with the success of the operation.

He said: “We plan to carry out similar enforcements over the coming weeks and months.

“We are committed to addressing the concerns of our community. To ensure your voice is heard, we emphasise the importance of raising these matters via the appropriate channels.

“You can do this via our priority surveys, by speaking with our officers when on patrol or at community engagements, or indeed, via our email address which can be found on the bottom of our South Holland newsletters on the Lincolnshire Police website.

“We are pleased to hear that residents have been supportive of these proactive steps to reduce anti-social vehicle use in key areas.”

“Despite there not being many cars on the road that evening, the results were still positive.”

One motorist was found to be driving in a manner that did not comply with the conditions of their licence while a motorbike was found with a noisy exhaust after a ‘baffle’ had been removed.

There were also two instances of vehicles with windows which breached the legal tint limits, and two cases of speeding.
