Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority May meeting delayed

Lincolnshire’s newest authority will not be meeting until June - more than a month after the elections.

Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority was provisionally booked to hold a meeting yesterday (Monday, May 19) but this has been postponed following the changes at Lincolnshire County Council.

Reform has taken control of the county council after winning 44 of the 70 seats while the party’s Dame Andrea Jenkyns was named mayor with 42% of the vote.

A spokesman for the authority said: “Due to changes in the make-up of one of the constituent councils (county council) following local elections, there will be changes to the make up of the GLCCA that can only be implemented at an annual meeting.

“Officers agreed that it would be more suitable to cancel this meeting and allow time to prepare for an annual meeting on June 4.”
