Algarkirk's Jerry Green is appealing for presents for its dogs

An animal rescue charity is appealing for help to make Christmas special for its dogs.

Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Algarkirk is planning to make the festive season special for its dogs while they wait for their forever homes.

Staff are asking for people to put together some shoe boxes of tasty treats and toys for them to play with over the festive period.

This will ensure that the dogs can enjoy a lovely Christmas dinner and spend the day opening presents with staff.
