Residents allowed to return to Holbeach homes after hand grenade was found to be inert
Residents who were evacuated from their homes have been allowed to return after a hand grenade was found to be inert.
Bomb disposal experts were called to Fleet Street in Holbeach earlier today after a grenade was discovered in a garden.
Police had placed a 100m cordon around a property to protect the public following the discovery.
A police statement said: “The EOD have concluded that the grenade is inert and the area has been deemed safe.
“Those who were evacuated from their properties can return, and the incident has concluded. Thank you to everyone for their patience.”
