Excitement builds for Spalding Flower Parade featuring Taylor Swift tribute, Badness, Abba Orbit and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
Organisers of Spalding Flower Parade have revealed the line-up for an exciting music festival.
The parade will be returning on Saturday, May 10, starting and finishing at Springfields Events and Conference Centre - which is also hosting a number of activities over the weekend.
Musicals is this year’s parade theme - which is the third since the popular event was resurrected in 2023 - with tribute band Abba Orbit and Badness performing on Friday night from 7pm.
While a Taylor Swift tribute will take to the stage at 3pm on Saturday - after the parade has been completed.
A spokesperson said: “Saturday's headlining musical act is a treat for Taylor Swift fans as Vicki Earle performs her It’s Not Taylor tribute.
“In addition to the parade a thrilling flypast by The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight of The Lancaster is also planned in the afternoon.
“There will be a variety of food vendors, a licensed bar, and a funfair to keep the festivities going.
“Don’t forget, entry to the venue on Saturday is again completely free, with donations always appreciated.”
Some 50 floats will be following the same route to previous years and the flower parade team will present seven headline floats sponsored by businesses from the area.
This year’s parade - which starts at 11am - includes participants from schools, dance groups, charities and marching bands.
Roman Bank will serve as the main entry and exit road to the events centre.
While the parade is underway, visitors can explore independent craft stalls, freshly cooked food, and enjoy the licensed bar and funfair.
For visitors travelling into Spalding, a park and ride service will be running from the Spalding Rugby Club off the A16 near to Applegreen Service Station, Roythornes Solicitors, Duncan & Toplis and Abbey Print.
These services are provided by Black Cat Travel and Smart Cabs and are chargeable.
