Armed police were seen searching a Spalding street during the early hours of this morning, eye witnesses report.
Sisters Goda (24) and Vaida (17) Ramanauskaite were left terrified after seeing 14 police cars descend on Cygnet Court along hearing a man threaten to jump.
Police have launched a murder investigation after a 52-year-old man died following an assault in Spalding. The man was pronounced dead at the scene in Cygnet Court.
Officers say they are linking this incident with another serious assault in which a 46-year-old man also suffered serious injuries. The assault occurred at 12.26am this morning in Bowditch Road in Spalding.
Vaida said: "At around 12.40am, we saw a lot of police cars come into the neighbourhood. My sister shouted at me to lock the door as they were so many police cars.
"We thought it might be a murder because of the amount of police cars so we were really scared as we didn't know what was going on."
They saw the officers go to a block of flats and then come out before a police officer was seen searching for something in the area with a flash light.
Vaida said: "We heard one man shout 'If you come closer I will jump'."
They also report seeing more officers with dogs arrive at the scene and join the search.
She added "They were searching all over the neighbourhood with police dogs and flash lights for something.
"They used a police drone to look for something from the sky.
"There were a lot of police men in black uniforms with big guns."
They witnessed as paramedics arrived.
Vaida said: "At around 7am they took a man out of the flat and put him in a police car.
"We also saw a police man with something like evidence bags in his hands."
At around 5am the girls' mother had finished work but was prevented from going to her home and frightened family by police.
Vaida said: "She was walking in town for a few hours and came back after everything had gone."
