The Garth School's annual Summer Fair was organised by the Friends Association and held on a scorching hot day, bringing a record turn out from school kids, relatives, friends and families.

Staff and Friends worked together setting up stalls and games for the fair goers and there was a Disco Dome Bouncy Castle, ice creams on sale from ‘Laddies of Holbeach’, and a full barbecue from Ye Old Abbey of Crowland.

The stalls included a tombola, hoopla, squirt the sweets, higher or lower, face painting, hair styling, The Bush Tucker Trail... and teachers Charlie and Tess even braved the stocks.

The raffle attracted a lot of attention this year too, with a £200 first prize and a £100 second prize.

Friends and families of The Garth were very generous and many pupils and past students came with their parents.

A total of £566 was raised, which will go towards upgrading the existing light room to a multi-sensory room, including some new portable sensory equipment.

Head of School Claire Moore said: “We had a fantastic fair and it was really well attended. It was good to see staff, parents and pupils working together to make it happen. A massive thank you to the Friends and everyone who came along and supported the day.”
