Spalding Town Board chairman thanks 310 people who took part in consultation on how to spend £20million

More than 300 people had their say on how £20million of Government cash should be spent on transforming the town.

Spalding Town Board has recently concluded a consultation on its vision of how the Plan for Neighbourhood money should be used to help rejuvenate the town, with the installation of a canopy, arched gateways and greater use of the River Welland.

The group held pop-in consultations and market stalls along with online consultations in order to gather views from people in the town.

Findings from the surveys are now being compiled ahead of the ten-year vision and investment plans being submitted to Government at the end of this month.

Board chairman Robin Hancox has thanked everyone who got involved with the consultation.

He said: “We've had a fantastic response with 310 people completing the survey, either online or in paper format, and many more speaking to us at our events over the four weeks.

“Now we're looking carefully at what the public has told us as we prepare our submission for Government, and we will provide an update on the findings shortly.

"Whilst this consultation may now be closed, our engagement with local people will continue in the months and years to come as we all work together for Spalding. We're excited about the opportunity for Spalding and the difference this funding can make for our town."
