Farmer honoured for nearly 50 years of service to Welland and Deepings Internal Drainage Board




A farmer who has given nearly 50 years of service to an internal drainage board has been honoured.

John Ward, a farmer from Baston Fen, has been presented with a tankard to celebrate his 47 years with the Welland and Deepings Internal Drainage Board.

Mr Ward is one of the longest serving board members after first joining in 1977 but stepped down in October.

He was presented with an engraved tankard to celebrate this amazing achievement by board chairman Trevor Purllant during a meeting in February.
