New Look staff say final goodbyes to loyal customers on last day of trading in Spalding
Staff are saying their final goodbyes to loyal customers as another popular town store closes its doors.
New Look in Market Place, Spalding is open for the last time today, Monday, June 9 — its last day of trading.
The closure is another blow to the town’s high street with the announcement earlier this year that Robert Goddard a couple of doors away was closing.
A New Look spokesperson said: “Our store in Spalding is set to close on June 9.
“We would like to thank all of our colleagues and the local community for their support over the years.
“We hope customers continue to shop with us online at newlook.com, where our full product ranges can be found.”
Dorothy Perkins left the town centre in 2021 while Coneys department store, which was previously Hills, shut in 2023.
Traders have expressed their concerns of the demise of the high street and the challenged facing retailers.
It is understood that the landlord of the property that New Look trades out of wants it back, although it is not clear yet what for.
Many customers have been into the store in recent days to bid farewell to the team.
The nearest New Look stores are Boston and Peterborough.
