Summer free parking starts in Spalding today

Visitors to Spalding will be able to take advantage of free parking from today, as a summer-long initiative gets under way.

South Holland District Council is letting people park for free for up to four hours in Vine Street and Herring Lane.

In Sheep Market, people can park for free for a maximum of an hour.

The free parking scheme starts today and runs until September 30.

Shoppers do still need to display a car park ticket in their windscreen from the machines to get free parking.

Any vehicle not displaying a ticket may still receive a fixed penalty notice.

The council sees free parking as one of a string of measures that can boost the district as businesses bid to recover from the pandemic.
