Fun dog show, hot air balloon rides and bucking bronco on the cards for Celebrate Surfleet event
A popular annual event, which organisers have been working on since January, is set to take place this weekend.
Celebrate Surfleet will be held on Sunday, September 8 from 11am at Glen Park, Station Road, Surfleet.
The event which first started in 2010, will feature live music, bucking bronco, a range of children's activities, food, classic cars, hot air balloon rides, a raffle, stalls and much more.
A fun dog run by Helen Vaitkevicieus, of Lincs Dog Training in Pinchbeck, will also be taking place and is set to raise money for Labrador Lifeline and Boxer Rescue.
There will be a total of 12 classes including puppy, adult, dog with the most appealing eyes and vertange (over seven).
Others include an open class, best rescue, waggiest tail, children’s best friend and judge’s best choice. Winners will be invited to compete in the ‘best in show’ class. It will cost £2 per class or three classes for £5.
One of the organisers, Jill Wright, said: “We have been working on it since January – it’s a big event and there’s a whole lot going on.
“Everybody has been thinking about it for so long but it comes round so quickly, I hope it all goes alright.
“We are always short of helpers especially younger ones. We need new fresh ideas from younger people so anyone who wants to help us is welcomed with open arms.”
Some of the money raised from the Celebrate Surfleet event will also go towards fixing the clock in St Laurence Church.
It costs £2.50 to enter per adults and children can attend for free.
