After trekking 28 miles from Sutton Bridge to Hunstanton, Andrea Graveling is looking to raise more cash for Prostate Cancer UK by hosting charity ball in King’s Lynn
After walking 28 miles in the name of charity, Andrea Graveling is ready to have a ball.
Andrea and pals Hailey Miller and Rachael Bowman took on the daring slog from Sutton Bridge to Hunstanton in July to raise cash for Prostate Cancer UK.
The successful yomp brought in an impressive total of £2,015, an amazing four times the amount hoped.
But that was just the first of a number of planned events to continue to swell the coffers.
Holbeach resident Andrea - who is fundraising in memory of her dad Trevor - will now host a charity ball later this year.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 27, from 7pm until midnight.
It's £50 a ticket per person — which pays for a three course meal and entertainment from the award winning DJ Jakropa. There will also be a raffle that people can buy tickets for on the night.
Trevor sadly passed away last February after suffering with the disease — but his memory lives on one-year on through Andrea’s charity exploits.
“Everybody loved my dad,” Andrea said.
“He was one of the nicest, kindest, most loveable people you could meet in your life.”
While friends suggested Andrea, Hailey and Rachael - who work together at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn - were ‘crazy’ for undertaking their 28-mile trek in the summer, the trio brushed off the blisters to raise a wonderful amount for a good cause, and were served up fish and chips courtesy of Henry’s restaurant for their efforts.
Tickets for the black-tie/formal event - which is held at the Duke’s Head in King’s Lynn Market Place - cost £50 each and are available by emailing gravelingandrea@gmail.com.
