Summer said: “I was really excited to be asked to close out the festival, especially alongside my fiancé who is also a DJ, KCEE.

“It’s so great that Cadence have been able to get a dance tent organised to showcase the incredible local talent, as well as giving some well deserved recognition to drum and bass.

“It’s not for everyone, but there’s so many different sub genres there’s definitely something for everyone.”

There has been a lot of support for the DJ who is getting positive feedback.

Summer added: “It’s been really nice to see the support of locals as well.

“Since the announcement I’ve had so many people message to let me know they’ve bought tickets to come along, which is really nice.

“Hopefully we can create an electrifying atmosphere to close out the weekend.”

Spalding Festival will now be able to showcase even more up-and-coming local talent thanks to an £18,300 cash injection, which comes from the latest round of UK Shared Prosperity Fund monies dished out by South Holland District Council.

Chairman of Spalding Festival Matt Clark said: “The Shaun Neal 90s Night has always been a highlight of the Spalding Festival remembered fondly for its lively closing party.

“This year, as part of our festival updates, we're thrilled to announce that the 90s show will kick off the festivities on Friday night.

“Expect an electrifying DJ set on the main stage following a performance by local band Hold the Sky, in addition to our decade-themed bingo sessions and a silent disco in the community area.

“We're excited to host double-headed performances from chart-toppers Ben of Phats and Small and Abz of 5ive.

“Known for their crowd-pleasing shows they promise to kick off our festival with a bang.

“I can't wait to see the joy on everyone's faces as they enjoy just a taste of what's in store for this year's festival.”
