Pinchbeck grooming salon to host charity dog wash event
Shaggy dogs will be transformed into clean-cut mutts as part of a fantastic fundraising effort.
Woozelbears will be hosting a charity dog wash at their Pinchbeck grooming salons to earn cash for a cause close to the owners’ hearts.
“We have got a lot of dogs that we treat at the moment that have spinal conditions,” said Andrew Greedy, who runs the business with wife Lauren.
“And with my recent diagnosis of a spinal condition, which is the same condition as many dogs we are treating, we are making September our spinal awareness month.”
The charity wash will take place on Sunday, September 29, where members of the public are invited to bring their pet pooches along for a makeover - involving a bath and a blow dry.
Funds raised will go to Broken Biscuits, a disabled animal rescue charity.
“Broken Biscuit have a lot of diabled dogs, not just spinal problems but the vast majority they have in are spinal dogs,” Andrew added.
“They have a lot of dogs on wheels. We thought how fitting it would be to raise money for that charity.
Andrew recently found out he was suffering from a degenerative disc disease, which meant he had to pull out of another charity event, a sponsored wing walk.
However, Lauren stepped in with just a week’s notice to ensure the stunt raised £750 for Algarkirk’s Jerry Green Dog Rescue
No appointments are needed for the charity dog wash, all you have to do is bring your four-legged frond to the Woozelbears’ canine hydrotherapy and grooming salon 5 Venture Court, Pinchbeck on the day.
The event runs from 9am to 3pm with prices being: small breeds £10, medium £20, large £30 and extra large £40.
“Turn up on the day and wait and we’ll get through people as quickly as we can,” Andrew added.
“There’s no appointment needed, but as it is for charity and to make sure 100% of proceeds go to charity we are going to be doing cash only.”
