HGV driver caught ignoring weight restriction on a country road near Crowland
Police have dealt with an HGV caught ignoring a weight restriction on a countryside road.
Lincolnshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit have been conducting patrols along the B1040 between Crowland and the A47 following complaints of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction being ignored.
Police have now released an image of a 44 tonne HGV which was stopped using route as a cut through.
“This road is barely suitable for cars,” explained a police statement, labelling the road a ‘boneshaker’.
The driver was issued a traffic offence report.
