Lincolnshire County Council says traffic lights at Spalding’s High Bridge were damaged by a crash
Highways bosses claim that town centre traffic lights had been knocked out by a crash.
Traffic jams have been reported across much of Spalding this morning after thanks to the installation of temporary traffic lights around the junctions around the town’s High Bridge.
The lights on Bridge Street, High Street, Churchgate and Church Street have been out of action since yesterday morning - with no visible damage to their structures. High Bridge has also been narrowed to one lane.
The lights were due to be removed late last night but were still in place during this morning’s rush hour.
Highways bosses have told this website that the lights had been damaged by a crash and that an electrical problem will need sorting.
There is no timescale on when the lights will be removed.
