Moulton Chapel TulipTime parade returns on Sunday May 5
An annual parade featuring competitions, entertainment, food and more is set to return with a whole host of family fun this bank holiday weekend.
The Moulton Chapel TulipTime Parade will be taking place on Sunday, May 5 and as organisers gear up for the popular event to return, they hope it will be bigger and better than last year.
After reaching a record number of visitors and participants in the 2023 parade, make sure to not miss out on this year’s fun.
One of the organisers is Karen Hemmant, who said: "We are hoping for a bumper crowd and decent weather. Hopefully the sunshine will bring everyone out."
The parade will leave Moulton Chapel Community Centre from 3pm and there will be a host of stalls and other activities in the Community Centre field.
In addition to the parade there will be floats, music, entertainment, food, drink, stalls, crafts, classic cars, vintage vehicles such as tractors, buses and motor-bikes, dancing and much more.
St James Church and Methodist Chapel will be open throughout the week-end for visitors to admire the flower festival.
The scarecrow competition will be taking place on Sunday and entries should be delivered to The Green outside St James’s Church after 5pm on Friday, May 3. Scarecrows can be collected after Monday, May 6. There will be cash prizes for first, second and third places.
There will also be a cake competition with three age range categories: cookies for 5-10 years, cupcakes for 11-16 year olds and Victoria sandwich cakes for 16 year olds.
Entries must be delivered to the Moulton Chapel Community Hall between 11am and 12pm on Sunday, May 5 and can be collected after 3.30pm.
Make sure to also keep an eye out for a fly past over the village by two Spitfires from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at 2pm – weather permitting.
